You can't tell it so much in this photo, but the wind was blowing so hard as the rain came down, all our icicles stretched to the south rather than hanging straight down. It was a strange sight.
This would be the tree that we planted in 2001 to replace the trees we lost in that ice storm. It was looking so beautiful this fall! Oh, well...

The ice is so beautiful, and yet, . . . & I have never seen icicles formed that way from the wind - a little eerie!
I'm also so thankful for you that Howard purchased that generator. We got one for my parents in our last big ice storm and it truly did get them through that week.
